Trollfjord
68°21′N, 14°58′E

On our journey south, we pass the Trollfjord. The Trollfjord is a 2-kilometer-long branch of the Raftsund strait, separating the Lofoten and Vesterålen regions. The name Trollfjord is derived from the trolls, the magical creatures of Norse mythology. The mouth of the Trollfjord into the Raftsund is only 100 meters wide. The fjord is impassable in rough seas. At its widest point, our ship turns around and sails back through the Raftsund.
