back to map TRANSLATE 8. Today we start to our last hop of the sail turn. We go to the dutch part of Sint Maarten in the Simson Baai Lagoon.

After anchoring we go by bus to the capital "Philipsburg", lieing at a tongue of land; there are only 1338 inhabitants. The place has severial bretty buildings dated from the colonial-time. By cruise-touristic there are innumerable tourists in the street, the centre is like a dutyfree shop.

Back at the beach of Simson Bay we have a last time swimming.

It just happend by chance the private yacht of the russian oiltycoon "Abramowitsch", incl. helicopter and submarine was anchoring before us.

For our farewell in the evening we go to the restaurant "Shrimpy's". We get served grilled shrimps grated and fried mussels and prawn.
