back to Egypt map TRANSLATE 7. Arrived at Assuan, we plentyful to the island "Philae" by boat. The island with its exuberant plants- and flowerage as well as its brilliant temple-constructions was once the "bead of Egypt". Ever since the construction of the "Assuan-Dam", it is sunk into the Nil, but the most important historic monuments could be rescued in a spectacular action and were reconstructed on the higher situated island "Agilkia".

After returning from Philae we go on nil to the "Lord Kitchener Island" to the botanic garden by "Felukke".

In the evening we visit the largest mosque of Assuan and launch out into Bazar-wander with spice-market.
